Video 43. All of the time

Tags:
@ 05:06 AM (21 months, 3 days ago)

The third of my three Original songs in a row. This one it titled "All of the time". It is a slow paced song.

I have to say that virtually all of my Original songs have been pretty well received on Youtube. There have been lots of very good comments.

Check out my Original song "All of the time".

A number of Youtubers mentioned to me that they would like to cover one of my songs, and that gave me an Idea. I thought it would be a good idea to encourage people to do that. After all. It would result in more exposure for my tunes.

There is an issue for a lot of singers though. Most of them cannot make the music themselves.

So I created a web page and made instrumental versions of my Original songs, and then put them up there for people to download. Then I put the link to that page in my descriptions for my videos.

This is the link:

Jeffstunes Download page

So now people can now cover my songs if they wish, without having to compose the music. Unless they want to of course.

The one thing I do ask though is that I am credited in some way. A link to my Youtube channel would be ideal.

Now to the Youtube Stats..

Before I start, there's something I've noticed about the numbers. There seems to be an inconsistency in the way the numbers move. Sometimes they go fast, and at other times they go slow. The total video views are pretty consistent, but the Subscribers seem to have good and bad days. Just something I noticed.

My subscribers are now at 413.

Channel views are at 10,566.

The overall video viewings are 118,438.

It's back to cover versions after this for a while. I pluck up the courage to get my guitar out!!

Tags:
@ 06:23 AM (21 months, 6 days ago)

Now to the second of two Original songs in a row. The name of this one is "Escape". This has been one of the favourites amongst some of my friends. Like the others before, this song was written a few years ago.

It's basically about people who are tired of playing the chasing game.

Here it is:

I've passed another Youtube milestone (Well in my mind anyway).

My subscribers have leapt over the 400 barrier and now stand at 402.

I now have 10,301 channel viewings.

115,368 total views for all videos. They are still moving along at a consistent pace.

Coming up next. The 3rd of 3 original songs together.

Original - Convey

@ 05:15 AM (21 months, 10 days ago)

This is the 1st song of 3 Original songs on the bounce. It goes by the name of "Convey". I wrote the song with the sole intention of making the first showing of it on Youtube.

The good feedback on all my Original material has pleased me. It's all been very positive. This song not so much about what people say. It's more about how they say it.

So here it is. Convey:

Youtube Stats.

I've gained another subscriber, and now I have 393.

10,111 Channel viewings. Rolling along nicely.

Views for all videos are 111,527. They are still flowing very well.

Next, is the second of my 3 Original songs in a row.

My rendition of Hello again.

Tags:
@ 04:19 AM (21 months, 11 days ago)

Here is the 2nd of the 2 Neil numbers in sequence. This was another of his big hits, and my video of this has done pretty well. It's had about double the viewings of the previous video.

It's title is "Hello again". If you are familiar with Neil Diamond, and you don'tr know this song then.....Where have you been? :)

Here is my version:

OK. No more Neil Diamond for a while now. The next three posts will be about Original songs of mine.

Back to the Youtube figures. Here's the latest stats.

392 Subscribers. That's the first time in a long time that there hasn't been a change.

Yippee! My channel views have broken the 10,000 barrier and now stand at 10,064.

Video views now stand at 110,754.

So, it's on to some Originals :)

2 Neil diamond songs on the bounce now. This is one of my favourites to sing. It is "September morn".

The two Neil Diamond songs were requests from a while back. I've received so many requests, and the list is out of hand now. So much so that I no longer accept requests. At least until I catch up. It will take over a year for me to go through all the songs, currently on my list!

I hope you enjoy my version of this song:

The second of the 2 Neil songs will be in the next post.

So how is my Youtube account getting on?

3 more subscribers, which takes me to 392. Getting ever closer.

The Channel views are within touching distance of the 10k figure at 9,996. Youtube updates every so often, so Imagine the next time it does, it will be there.

Total video views = 109,854. Still going strong.

So on to more Neil :)

My attempt at a CCR song

Tags:
@ 03:19 AM (21 months, 13 days ago)

Now for something from "Creedence clearwater revival", and the awesome "Bad moon rising". It's a song I've always liked, and this allowed me to have a dabble with the effects on my sound card. The maximum simultaneous effects I can use are 2, so I opted for Reverb and Slap Back Echo. The second of those effects is very much like that used in the original.

This is my attempt

Moving on to my Youtube figures. I am fast approaching two milestones.

My subs are at 389. Almost at the 400 mark.

The channel views are 9,917. Ever so close to 10,000 now. It's looking like the Channel views will reach their target first.

My overall video viewings are still racing forward and are now at 108,960.

The next 2 vids are Neil Diamond songs that were requested a while back.

Solid as the earth beneath my feet

Here's a number I recorded a few years back. It's different to the other cover versions, in that i didn't sit in front of the camera and sing it. I had some really positive feedback on the use of male vocals in this song, so that was a good enough reason to upload it to Youtube.

Something else I discovered, was how to improve the sound quality in my videos, and present them in stereo. I would normally upload an MPG video. This time I converted the MPG file to Flash video, whilst tweaking some settings. This resulted in a much shorter upload time, because the resultant Flash video was much smaller in size that the original MPG video.

The tune is "I am blessed", by a band called "Eternal".

Here is my rendition.

There are some songs that have long notes in them, and that was one of them. :)

Nw it's time for a Youtube figures update.

2 more subscribers which now makes it 384 Subscribers.

Channel views 9,827.

The video views are steadily increasing. The total on those now is 108,198.

Next we have one of the best songs from the 1960's. Also my use of some sound card effects :)

One of my songs

@ 07:00 AM (21 months, 14 days ago)

Here's another one of my Original songs.

This is another song I wrote a few years back. It was part of a large batch of songs I wrote in a 2 month period. A number of friends and family took a liking to this one.

It's name is "Anybody there"

It's about someone alone, who tries to reach out and contact friends, but every time they try, they seem to fail. This makes the feel worse.

See what you think:

A Youtube stats update.

2 more subscribers since the last post. I'm now on 382.

There's also been a good increas in my channel views. They are now at 9,730.

The total views for all my videos are now 107,229. Still moving strongly.

Next. A cover I recorded a few years ago, which I decided to put up.

A Paul McCartney tribute song

Tags:
@ 06:38 AM (21 months, 15 days ago)

This is a very special cover. One of my friends on Youtube asked me to have a go at this song. I had real problems finding any backing for this, so I ended up recording the music myself, but differently.

The song is "Here today" by Paul McCartney. This was a tune that Paul McCartney wrote in honour of John Lennon. The original of this was a Guitar based song. I had an idea. What if I used a piano instead of the guitar, and made the piano sound a bit like the one used in John Lennon's imagine.

I put together some images for the vid. It hadn't been too long since George Harrison died, so I decided to include pictures of him too.

Here is the final result.

This is another of my videos on Youtube that has done quite well. Being one of my top rated videos with 60 ratings so far :)

Now an update on my Youtube figures.

My subscribers have gone up again. This time to 380.

My channel has now been viewed 9,633 times.

The total viewings for all my videos is 105,634. It's a nearly a thousand a day now!

Coming up next. Another original song from me :)

Me doing Coldplay again

Tags:
@ 12:57 PM (21 months, 17 days ago)

This next number is probably one of songs on Youtube that has received the most attention. It's one of my all time favourites, and one of the best tunes that Coldplay ever produced. The one and only "Fix you".

This in my attempt at it:

Here are the stats on this video alone, up until I put this post out:

55 Ratings.

2,281 Viewings.

Favourited 25 times.

I've gained 4 more subscribers, which takes the current tally to 376. It's getting ever closer to 400.

The video views are up to 103,970.

My channel views are also up to 9,500. Only 500 more to get to the magic ten thousand :)

Looking forward to the next post. It was specially requested by a very supportive friend on Youtube. It's me singing a cover version of a song about the loss of a friend. I changed the music, to try and enhance the relevance.

I'll tell you more later :)

Now to the thirty first vid. A 1995 Paul weller UK hit. The song is "You do something to me"

Before I continue. I thought I'd update you on my channel at the moment and give a link to it.

I have recently uploaded my 56th vid which is a song called "How to save a life" by "The fray". If you ever watched Gray's Anatomy, you might know this song. I've got it as the currently featured video on my Youtube channel, and you can visit it by following the link below.

Jeffstunes's Channel on Youtube

Now back to the order of play for this post.

Check out my version of the Paul Weller song below.

I've had a good weekend for new subscribers.

The total currently stands at 372.

I'm pleased to announce that my video views went over the 100,000 mark on friday, and has climbed to 102,181.

Next, a Coldplay song that went down really well.

Picking guesses from the air

@ 05:37 AM (21 months, 23 days ago)

Here we are at the thirtieth video already.

This is one of my own compositions from over a year ago. It's called "Why don't you ask".

This one is more up tempo in relation to the other songs of mine. I had a mad moment where I wanted to create a hook in a heavy song with a vibraphone., and the fruit of that idea is embedded within this tune.

The tune is about two people. One of them is really interested in how the other person feels about things and asks these things. They are frustrated that the other person doesn't do that. They just assume they know. They are of course wrong.

Have a listen:

Now for some numbers.

I've had an increase in my subscribers again.

The current total is 354.

The views for all my videos has just passed 99,000. At the current rate. They should make the 100,000 during friday.

The amount of people viewing my channel is 9402. It's going to take a little longer for that to reach 10,000. I estimate it might take a few weeks.

That's another Original out of the way. Next we have another cover. Something by Paul Weller :)

Last day of June

Tags:
@ 06:50 AM (21 months, 23 days ago)

Wohoo. Almost to the 30th vid. This is the twenty ninth of my videos.

This reached number nine in the UK charts in 1973. It is a slow paced mushy song called "Summer (The first time)", by Bobby Goldsboro. I always though this song was matche to the film "Summer of 42". A movie I very much enjoyed watching. I was a story about a young lad during the second world war, finding out about his sexuality, and falling for a war widow.

This is my version of that song.

There's been a bit more activity with my subscribers again. They have increased. The current running total is below.

Subscribers = 352

Just a few more days and I should pass the magic 100,000 viewings for my video. I'm not sure if I should celebrate that or not. Lol.

The next video after this is going to be one of my original songs, which shows me trying out the odd idea.

So until then....

Raindrops are falling on my head

Tags:
@ 03:35 AM (21 months, 25 days ago)

There are plenty of tunes that please me but the next song I did does that particularly well. It's that old classic "Raindrops keep falling on my head". The one I grew up with was the version by BJ Thomas.

A lot of you will know that this song was featured in the film "Butch cassidy and the sundance kid". It's a very cheery song to sing.

A number of other Youtubers were also cheered by it. This led to some of them recording their own version of the song and posting it as a response to mine :)

My version is below:

My subscribers have gone up 2 since my last posting.

The total now stands at 349.

I am also fast approaching 100,000 video views. This should hopefully clock over in the next few days. Also my channel is close to 10,000 views.

My next song is another old song from the 70's.

A Bruce Springsteen number now

Tags:
@ 04:36 AM (21 months, 27 days ago)

Now the 27th Jeffstunes video which is a tune from a fantastic movie called Philadelphia. The title of the tune is "Streets of philadelphia" and is originally performed by Bruce Springsteen.

This is another one of those songs that is packed with feeling. I got to know the song before I saw the movie. The movie was a very sad and moving tale.

This is my interpretation of this wonderful song.

I thought it migh be a good idea to include my Youtube subscriber count in every post from now on. To see how it's hopefully progressing.

So here is the first declaration.

The current number of subscribers to my Youtube channel is: 347

It will be interesting to look back on historical posts to see how and if the figure climbs :)

A Connells song

Tags:
@ 03:14 AM (21 months, 28 days ago)

In 1995 a band called the Connells had a hit in the UK with an awesome number. The song got to number 14 in the charts. It's the subject of this next video.

The song, of course is 74/75.

I can't work out why the Connells didn't have more success because I thought that this was a fantastic tune.

Most of you will probably recognise the song. Check out my version below.

Next. Another song, that is actually not a Neil Diamond song :)
